IMPROVISED FILM The improvised film has become a tradition and is always a stunt exercise. First, a much reduced professional team commits itself to a 48hours marathon of spontaneous creation including: writing, filming, editing and sound-tracking. Then, the director and team have to follow specific instructions concerning shooting locations, accessories, cinematographic style, characters’ features and cue lines proposed by the public on opening night. The result, a culminating moment, is presented on the Saturday night at the end of the Festival’s program in front of a thrilled and grateful crowd which impatiently expects the final WORK. Sleepless night and vertigo guaranteed! Choice of constraints > Thursday March 11th > 6 pm
BIOGRAPHY of Anaïs Barbeau-Lavalette From Honduras to Argentina, through Tanzania, Biarritz and Palestine, ANAIS BARBEAU-LAVALETTE has seen a lot. Her very committed documentary films have taken her to the four corners of the planet and been appreciated in many cinema events. Le Ring, her first fiction feature, selected in many festivals around the world, has received excellent reviews. For the last five years, she has participated in the marvellous Wapikoni Mobile adventure which trains young natives in the 7th art, while working on a wide array of projects where society and politics meet head-on, such as on the website « unissonsnosvoix.ca » where artists and citizens are invited to speak for 30 seconds against prime minister Harper. She’s preparing the publication of her first novel, titled Boxing Day.
