REGARD’s CARTE BLANCHE consists in inviting another short film festival to present a program comprising the movies which have left their mark in its own annual event. This special part, while contributing in giving access to a cinema which constantly pushes back the style’s limits, shows us imaginary worlds as far out as those we already frequent. If it stimulates the development of our network on the international scene, it is by bringing together our respective national cinematography and favouring fruitful exchanges.
This year, the honour falls on the Bristol’s Encounters Short Film Festival which offers us a part of its 15th edition program which included more than 150 films registered for the competition. The best dramas, comedies, musical videos, documentaries and animations from the United Kingdom, and elsewhere around the world, are every year part of the rendezvous given by this event which qualifies itself as «the greatest short film festival». Liz Harkman, general manager of the Encounters Short Film Festival will be with us to present this program.
