2014 Edition
The REGARD Short Film Festival in Saguenay is an example of regional cultural development. Networking with the local community and its discipline, numerous special projects and steady development of the event have cemented the REGARD Festival to its audiences.
It is a major hub of collaborations with several emerging Canadian festivals, with its community through several councils, committees and film societies; with its own surroundings through its short film Market (Marché du court métrage) in which are held several workshops, conferences, round tables and other public or private meetings.
REGARD is also an objective: to be a gateway of the Americas for short cinema and an international launching pad for Canadian cinema.
Spokesman
With so much to say and in such short time, I find myself in the position as filmmaker of short films.
In the blink of an eye, the seconds tick by, the minutes melt away, these images and sounds that compile, interlace and unfurl. Through a handful of instants slipping through time, a package from the world is presented and reveals our own reflection. What we dream, what we see, what shocks us, what annoys us, what revolts us, what we adore and what we believe. For many filmmakers, short film is not just essential for learning about film, but vital in every form. For us, the spectators, our attention draws itself to this humble, but illuminating window that reveals a different regard. As I am to understand, if the short is the court of film, then I am its most loyal courtier. It is with great honor and pleasure that I invite you to meet film in short form.
Enjoy the Festival!”

Short Film market
The heart of the Market is to make shorts run in all directions, at all latitudes. Here, your films can travel and find buyers. It’s the meeting place for filmmakers, institutes, producers, distributors, buyers and programmers from here and abroad.
The video library offering over 1 200 shorts, workshops and conferences make the Market a unique occasion of networking and meeting new people.
Youth
